Día de las Flores, Antigua Guatemala

For Antigua's Day of Flowers, the city's historic fountain disappeared under a cascade of color. Ferns and eucalyptus spill from the upper basin, birds of paradise, roses and statice ring the base, and the stone mermaids hold posies of our cymbidiums — green, pink and golden yellow — a celebration of everything that grows in the Guatemalan highlands.
