Medical Clinic Inauguration
February 1, 2025
On February 1st, Designer Cut Flowers inaugurated a new medical clinic, built to care for pregnant mothers and sick children in the community around our farm in Patzicía, Chimaltenango. The Mayor attended the opening, together with other local authorities and community leaders.
Care close to home
For a family, the hardest moments to reach a doctor are often the ones that matter most: the months before a baby arrives, and the day a child falls ill. The clinic brings that care closer, so mothers can be looked after during pregnancy and children can be seen when they need it.
Part of how we grow
Around 80% of the people on our team are women, and fair labor practices, equality for women and support for our community have always been part of how we grow cymbidiums. The clinic joins the ongoing training our team receives in health, wellness and safety, and the solar power that runs our greenhouses, whose surplus goes toward lighting for families nearby.
Our thanks to the Mayor, the local authorities and the community leaders who joined us for the inauguration, and to everyone on our team who helped make the clinic a reality.
